When ITHUBA announced the PowerBall matrix change in June 2018, it was with the benefit of our players in mind. The objective was to rejuvenate the player experience by increasing the prize payout and more importantly, by creating bigger jackpots that would really change the lives of our winners.

With PowerBall PLUS at a staggering record-breaking R81 million jackpot, ITHUBA is living up to their word.

While the main game, PowerBall, has reached far higher jackpot amounts, this is the first time that any PLUS game has reached a jackpot of this magnitude. ITHUBA says this fact, among their other initiatives, is what really sets them apart as the innovative, trend-setting Operators of the National Lottery.

“As the third South African National Lottery Operator, we are really proud to be at the forefront of the evolving National Lottery brand. ITHUBA is a member of the World Lotteries Association and is aligned with the international best practices of responsible gaming. This has helped us in modernising and revamping the South African Lottery into an exciting gaming brand that offers life-changing jackpots”, said Khensani Mabuza, Corporate Relations Executive at ITHUBA.

The PowerBall PLUS draw for the R81 million jackpot will take place on Tuesday 16 April at 9 PM on eTV.

Players have until 20:30 on the day of the draw to purchase their tickets at participating retail stores, banking apps, the  National Lottery website or on the recently launched National Lottery app.
