Cape Town - Steve Hofmeyr's son, Armand, is a singer like his dad and, like his dad, he was caught speeding on the N4 outside Bronkhorstspruit.
Armand was caught on Sunday reportedly doing 185km/h in a 120km/h zone.
His excuse was that he had diarrhoea after eating boerekos at the venue he had been performing at.
But cops didn’t fall for his cr*ppy excuse, and he was arrested and later released on bail of R500.
Armand took to social networks to complain about his toilet problems, saying his stomach was the reason he landed in jail.
Armand took it all in his stride and tweeted a picture of bully beef in a cheese sauce that he believes was the cause of his problem.
He wrote on Facebook: “En het JY al gesien hoe gebruik ek die hele bronkhorstspruit police station se toilet papier op, hahaha.” (Did you see how I used all of Bronkhorstspruit police station’s toilet paper.)
He also told Maroela Media: “My cousin from Burgersfort and I literally drove garage to garage so I could relieve myself.
“Ek hoop om gou hier uit te kom en ’n boete te betaal en sal dan my saak in die hof stel as dit voorkom.” (I hope to get out of here quickly and to pay a fine and then I’ll state my case in court.”
Ironically, Armand was arrested on the same highway his father was arrested for speeding in 2013.
Steve pleaded guilty and ended up paying a R10 000 fine.
