Two men were taken in for questioning after stolen vehicles worth more then R1 million were seized in Soweto on Tuesday, Gauteng police said.

The men, aged 28 and 42, were suspected of involvement in a syndicate that stole cars and sold them, said Colonel Lungelo Dlamini

The gang intercepted trucks transporting vehicles, removed tracking devices from the cars and then stole them.

The vehicles were falsely registered and chassis numbers were tampered with before they were sold, Dlamini said. - Sapa
