Johannesburg - A man was shot and arrested after a high-speed chase along Klipriver Road, south of Johannesburg, on Monday, metro police said.
Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said metro police saw a blue Volvo with five occupants and false number plates on the R28 at around 1pm.
They ordered the driver to stop, but he sped off. The officers gave chase and called for police back-up.
Minnaar said the men jumped out of the car and started shooting in Eden Park. The metro police returned fire, wounding one man before arresting him. An illegal firearm was found in his possession.
The search for the other four men continued.
