Three held for stolen cars, house robbery

Johannesburg – Johannesburg Metro police on Monday arrested three suspects in which connection with a house robbery and housebreaking following an incident where officers shot out the tyres of a getaway vehicle near the Kliptown railway station

A silver Ford Territory which was stolen during a house robbery in Florida, was spotted near the Kliptown Railway Station, on Monday, reported JMPD spokesperson, Wayne Minnaar.

“Upon investigation they spotted three men approach the parked vehicle, one in a gold Lexus and the other two in a silver Hyundai.” Minnaar said.

Police officers arrested all three suspects after shooting out the tyres of the Lexus when they tried to flee.

“It was also discovered that the gold Lexus was also stolen in Florida earlier this month,” Minnaar said.

The suspects are due to appear in the Roodeport Magistrate’s Court soon for possession of stolen vehicles and while investigations are underway to see if are linked to other house robberies.
