Two arrested for ammo and stolen car

Cape Town - “Two suspects were arrested in Cape Town after they were caught in possession of three firearms, ammunition, and a stolen vehicle,” police said on Friday.

Kraaifontein police made the arrest on Thursday night, acting on a complaint of a suspicious vehicle standing outside of a garage in Old Paarl Road,.

When the suspects, of whom there were five, saw police approaching, they fled the vehicle, running in different directions.

Two of the suspects, a 31-year-old and a 39-year-old, were arrested.

Police recovered two 7.65 pistols, five .38 special rounds, and eight nine millimetre rounds. The vehicle was discovered to have been stolen in Nyanga.

The two suspects are expected to appear in the Kuilsriver Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing charges possession of a stolen vehicle and the illegal possession of firearms.
