Johannesburg -

Two men were arrested on Thursday night after police disrupted a drug deal in an internet cafe in Elsburg, on the East Rand, metro police said.

Inspector Kobeli Mokheseng said metro police raided the cafe after a tip-off.

“At 3.30pm... (a) customer entered the place and there was an exchange of money and something in a clear packet, before officers pounced on two male suspects between the ages of 34 and 37,” Mokheseng said.

“The premises were thoroughly searched and inside a non-working printer displayed on a counter, eight packets of heroin was found.

“Ten packets of crystal meth (tik) including sixteen packets of cat (methcathinone), were found after the pair was searched.”

The estimated street value of the drugs is R5 200.

The two were expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate's Court soon. - Sapa
