Johannesburg - Police have arrested two people in connection with the murder of Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa during a robbery at his girlfriend's home, the public broadcaster reported on Wednesday.
According to the SABC, two men were being held for questioning after their arrest in Nongoma, KwaZulu-Natal.
Police in Johannesburg could not immediately confirm the arrest.
The SABC said the suspects were nabbed following a tip-off by members of the public.
The 27-year-old goalkeeper was shot dead late on Sunday when burglars broke into Kelly Khumalo's house in a township 30km south of Johannesburg, making off with a cellphone.
Police have offered a reward of R250 000 for any information leading to an arrest.
Meyiwa will be buried on Saturday in his home town in Durban. - Sapa-AFP
