Johannesburg - The High Court sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrate's Court will hear on Friday two separate cases that involved satanic ritual killings.
In the first case, three men and a minor are on trial for the murder of Kirsty Theologo, 18, and the attempted murder of her then 14-year-old friend, on a hill in Linmeyer, Johannesburg, in October 2011.
They were assaulted, doused with petrol and set alight. Theologo died of her injuries in hospital a week later. Her friend survived.
Linden Wagner, Harvey Isha, Robin Harwood, and Courtney Daniels have all pleaded not guilty.
Two other accused, Jeremy King and Lester Moody, confessed to the crime and were each sentenced to 17 years' imprisonment, five of which were suspended.
In the other case, a 15-year-old girl will appear in connection with stabbing a fellow pupil to death.
The friend, Keamogetswe Sefularo, was killed as part of an alleged satanic ritual.
The teenager confessed to stabbing Sefularo so she could move up the ranks of a satanic cult in Randfontein.
She said Sefularo had posed a threat to the cult because she knew its members and their practices.
The girl told the court that the rituals included visiting graveyards and members cutting themselves and sucking each other's blood. - Sapa
