Cape Town - Bambi, the female deer saved by Fisantekraal residents about a year ago and cared for by the Lucky Lucy Foundation, outside Durbanville, needs a new home.

The foundation’s managing director, Richelle Graham, said Bambi was found at the side of the road by residents and was taken to the foundation.

“Bambi is about three or four years old,” she said. “She is not high maintenance; she just loves human companionship. She also enjoys interacting with other animals, except dogs, as she is very tame,” Graham said.

The foundation now wants Bambi to get a new home because they believe she deserves a place where she can have proper environmental stimulation and be able to play freely.

Despite her low maintenance, Graham stresses that Bambi would require proper food, grooming and a happy home. “Bambi will need other animals around her as well – she cannot be alone,” Graham added. – Cape Argus
