Durban - A 90-year old woman was gunned down in her home in eSikhaweni, about 15 kilometres south of Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal police said on Monday.
Police spokesman Major Thulani Zwane said Ellen Mlaba and her boyfriend were in their home in the Ncombo area of eSikhaweni on Saturday night when they were attacked.
Her boyfriend was seriously wounded and rushed to hospital. Mlaba was fatally wounded, he said.
A case of murder has been opened and Zwane said the motive for the attack was not known.
