Clinton not a budding author

California - President Bill Clinton said on Saturday he has read books about his presidency and impeachment, but has no interest in contributing to the genre.

After a fund-raiser, Clinton stopped at a bookshop in the Willow Glen section of San Jose and invited reporters inside with him to look around.

He acknowledged reading a few books about his affair with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky and the impeachment ordeal that followed. Yet, he wasn't tempted to buy Peter Baker's The Breach - a new book about the scandal that was on a table of newly-released hardbacks in the front of the shop.

Asked whether he plans to write his own account of the scandal after he leaves the White House, Clinton replied: "No."

"I'm going to think about other things when I get out," he said. "I've thought about it enough already." - Sapa-AP
