Osnabrueck, Germany - A runaway kangaroo got into a fist fight with German police on Saturday before being returned to its owner, authorities said.
Police were alerted early Saturday that the kangaroo had been seen on a road near the northern city of Oldenburg.
Officers sent to retrieve the animal had to engage in a physical fight with it before it could be restrained.
The animal sustained light injuries in the scuffle and was subsequently returned to its owner, police said.
The kangaroo escaped from its owner on July 28 alongside another kangaroo, which was caught on the same day.
