Manila - The Philippines said Tuesday it wants justice for the death of a Filipina allegedly killed by her Swedish husband in Sweden.

Mailyn Conde Sinambong was allegedly killed by her husband, actor-director, Steve Abou Bakr Aalam, on September 23 in their residence in Kirsta, north-west of Stockholm, the Philippines' Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said.

Sinambong, a 28-year-old mother of two boys, "succumbed to injuries she sustained after she was severely beaten allegedly by her husband," the agency.

DFA said Consul General Maria Elena Algabre flew in from Oslo and is now in Stockholm to make arrangements to bring back to the Philippines the body and to coordinate with Swedish authorities and with the lawyer handling the case.

Aalam, 50, has reportedly been taken into custody.

The embassy officers were preparing a mass for Sinambong on Tuesday with Filipino priests and the Filipino Community in Stockholm, the DFA said.
