Seoul - Internationally acclaimed South Korean boy band BTS has

cancelled concerts planned for April in Seoul due to the coronavirus

outbreak in the country.

It was impossible to predict the scale of the outbreak for the

concert dates, the band's agents, Big Hit Entertainment, said. South

Korea has reported the highest number of infections outside China,

reaching more than 2,000 on Friday.

The four concerts from BTS's "Map of the Soul Tour," scheduled

between April 11-19, would have been the kick-off of the band's world

tour. The first of the boy band's US shows is scheduled for April 25.

They are scheduled to perform in some European countries and in Japan

by the end of September.

Founded in 2013, BTS is one of South Korea's most successful K-Pop

exports.
