Sarasota, Florida - More than 50 people are dead and more than 200 others injured following a mass shooting in Las Vegas, police said Monday.

The shooter, who started firing an automatic rifle from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel at 10:08 pm (0708 GMT), was killed by security forces, Sheriff Joe Lombardo said.

He is a white 64-year-old male named Stephen Paddock who resided in Las Vegas, Lombardo said.

Additionally, authorities are "confident, but not 100-per-cent sure," that an Asian female who was named as a person of interest in the massacre has been found, Lombardo said.
