Istanbul -
A man shot and killed his mother at a courthouse in Istanbul on Tuesday, Turkish media reported.
A police official was also shot and killed, while another person is being treated for injuries.
The father was also present at the time of the killing, as the parents were settling their divorce proceedings.
The woman had initiated the divorce, complaining about domestic violence.
The assailant has been captured.
On International Women's Day, marked at the weekend, activists in Turkey said domestic violence is a serious problem in the country along with so-called “honour killings” targeting women. - Sapa-dpa
