Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, a Sunni Muslim extremist group, has claimed responsibility for an attack targeting Shi’a Muslims in the southwestern Pakistani city of Quetta.

More than 100 people were killed and scores of others wounded in a series of multiple attacks across Pakistan, including at least 81 in the bombing in Quetta.

Bomb explosions and violent deaths rocked Quetta, the Swat Valley in the north-west, and the port city of Karachi on Thursday.
