Beirut - Two men suspected of slaying a British radio
presenter, who was found dead in his home in Lebanon earlier this
week, have been arrested, Lebanese judicial and police sources said
Thursday.
The suspects are two Syrian nationals who apparently intended to
commit robbery, a judicial source told dpa on condition of anonymity.
Gavin Ford, 53, was found dead in his home in the village of Beit
Mery, which overlooks the capital Beirut, on Tuesday.
A police source, who requested anonymity, confirmed the arrest and
said the pair had confessed to the murder.
There was no immediate official comment.
Ford, who was well known in Lebanon, used to present a popular
morning programme on Lebanon's Radio One FM station, where he had
been working since 1996.
