Cape Town - With just minutes left before judgment was to be handed down, a woman accused of kidnapping Zephany Nurse revealed to the Daily Voice she was calm and ready to face the music.
The Lavender Hill woman sat in a coffee shop outside the Western Cape High Court where she was to be either convicted or acquitted of snatching a three-day-old baby from Groote Schuur Hospital 18 years ago.

She told the Daily Voice she was comforted by the words of encouragement she received from the teenager she is accused of stealing.
The accused is not allowed to see the teen girl, who currently lives with her husband.
“This morning my husband told me she said good luck to me and that she loves me,” said the smiling accused.
“I'm not nervous, I just expect what the Lord wants to happen.
“But yesterday (on Wednesday) I was feeling emotional, fear of going to prison got a hold of me. But after praying I felt no fear.
“Guilty or not guilty, I will accept it and take if from there.”
Till the very end, she insisted she did not kidnap the child, but instead received Zephany in an informal adoption deal she claims was worth R3 000.
“I know I was not at that hospital that day, but if nobody believes me that it's fine,” she said.
“But I don't regret taking her from the [Wynberg train] station that day, she was a joy for me.
“I thank the Lord for the 17 years and 10 months I had with her.”
