Cirque production enchants audiances

Knife thrower Andrei Homanau with Darya Sharamet will entertain audiences in the Enchanted cirque production.

Produced and directed by Sebastian Cassie and presented by Showcasting, Enchanted will be performed in a 450-seater spiegeltent shipped from Belgium and constructed by renowned Belgian tent master, Rik Klessens.

The venue is the P3 parking area in Green Point, in front of the Cape Town Stadium, opposite McDonald’s.

Hosted by top South African comedienne Mel Jones and Piky Pokus from Argentina, super-star acts lined up include crossbow contortionist and silk artist Orissa Kelly, cloud swing and hoop artist Tom McKinnon, laser and bubble magic man Thomas Favaro, a disco inspired roller skating pair and a heart-stopping knife throwing duo.

Showcasting is headed up by Sebastian Cassie and Michael Carrigan, the driving force behind this cirque production.

Having been involved in some of Australasia’s most successful circus shows, musical theatre and stage productions, the team have set up a local office in South Africa, uniting artists from around the globe and bringing a world class entertainment offering to SA.

“Having the opportunity to bring this enchanting and unique production to my home country is a dream fulfilled,” said Mr Cassie.

Enchanted will be presented until mid-October. Performances are Wednesday to Friday, at 8pm, Saturday at 3pm and 8pm, and Sunday at 5pm.
