FNB Life, the life assurance arm of First National Bank, now offers instant life cover to FNB banking customers through the FNB banking app and the bank’s online banking facility.

Customers can buy cover within a few minutes by logging into their profiles, choosing the assurance option, answering medical questions and accepting the ensuing quote. Some people may be required to go for a medical assessment before the policy starts. The assessment is free of charge.

By integrating assurance into the FNB banking system, “it has never been easier and more convenient for consumers to take up life cover”, Lee Bromfield, the chief executive of FNB Life, says.

With a single log-in, FNB customers will be able to manage all their financial services and accounts. Life policyholders will be able to review and update their cover digitally without the intervention of consultants.

The life cover product has also been linked to the bank’s eBucks rewards programme.
