Insurance company Outsurance this week unveiled a new corporate identity and simultaneously launched its new website and mobile application.
Established in February 1998, the company has become one of South Africa’s most identifiable brands. Its copy line, “You always get something out”, remains unchanged.
The Outsurance app has a number of innovations. For instance, clients can lodge a claim without having to interact with the call centre. They can include an item on their policy and take a photo of the item using their smartphone. The app also allows users toobtain a life insurance quote in under a minute.
SmartDrive, Outsurance’s new telematics programme, provides discounts of up to 25% of your premium – depending on how well you drive. [email protected], the 24/7/365 emergency roadside and home-assistance service, is accessible to all registered app users, whether or not they are Outsurance policyholders.
“The fact that we’ll come and help you out if you’re stuck on the side of the road with a flat tyre or battery, whether you’re a client or not and completely free of charge, ties in with our brand promise,” said Outsurance group chief executive Willem Roos.“People who are not yet Outsurance clients can download the app, and after a period of driving well, get up to a 25% discount on their Outsurance quote.”
Roos also eluded to a new financial services product that Outsurance has developed. “We’re in the final testing of a new savings product that we believe will bring much-needed disruption and innovation to the savings and investment space. Outvest has all the potential to shake up that market in much the same way that Outsurance shaped insurance,” he said.
The app is available from the Apple and Google Play stores.
