Pretoria - DJ and music producer DJ Msoja SA from Pretoria started his biggest gig on Saturday.
He is the new resident DJ on Ryan The DJ’s Metro FM Urban Beat on the first Saturday of every month at 10.10pm.
“Listeners will get good Afrotech, Afrohouse and electronic music from both underground and well-known acts,” he said. “When it comes to music, I always search for new dope musicians. If the music is good, I play it.”
DJ Msoja SA said he had been submitting a mix to Ryan the DJ, who accepted it and decided to go a step further by giving him the platform.
Describing the feeling of being associated with one of the biggest radio stations in the land, he said: “I could not believe it. This was my dream from the beginning, and my dream has come true.”
While preparing the mixes, DJ Msoja SA has been working on a new EP, set for release next month.
Born Tshepo Malope, he has previously collaborated with some of the biggest names in the industry.
DJ Msoja SA has had many hit songs but singles out Helicopter as the best. It was his first song to be recognised by an established artist.
When not making music or performing, DJ Msoja SA is a public relations student at Unisa.
