Pretoria - Gospel singer Tshidi Chauke from Pretoria is set to record his debut live DVD.

He will be joined on stage by multi-award-winning gospel music stars Dr Tumi, Mmatema Moremi and Omega Khunou.

Chauke’s recording will be held on June 11 at the Grace Kingdom Centre in Ga-Rankuwa Zone 1.

He is a former lead singer for the renowned Tshwane Gospel Choir and made waves a few months back when he won the Crown Gospel Awards “Best Clap and Tap” award, Ingoma Awards “Best Clap and Tap”, as well as the Mpumalanga Gospel Awards “Best National Male Gospel” awards.

Speaking during a recent rehearsal for the upcoming big moment, Chauke said the recording would consist of traditional gospel songs as well as new material he and his production team had been working on.

He added that the recording was close to his heart because he would performing the songs that he wrote for the first time.

“I composed most of the song in the upcoming album. The recording will consist of 16 songs that will be released on hard and soft copies in all music distribution sites,” he said.

“I see this upcoming project as a breakthrough for me as an artist and as a God-fearing man because I have long wanted to express my writing and singing ability to the world.

“This is indeed a dream come true for me and to top it all I will get to share the stage with my friends in the industry such as Dr Tumi, Omega Khunou and Mmatema Moremi.

“I would like to urge those in need of spiritual healing, especially in the pressing times we are facing as a country, to attend this show as it is set to restore all that is lost.”
