Pretoria - Afro Tech producer, DJ, and recording artist TorQue MuziQ has teamed up with the legendary Themba (or Euphonik) on a remix of the 2002 Harrison Crump dance classic, Stomp Your Feet.

It is always said “do not touch a classic unless you are going to make it better that the original” – and TorQue MuziQ gives the 2022 version of the iconic jam a “10 out of 10 rating”.

“Nothing less than,” said the TorQue MuziQ of the modern-day version of the iconic track which topped the music charts and hit dance floors exactly 20 years ago.

“It feels great to have worked on the song. It’s always been my dream to have a song that will shake the whole world,” said TorQue MuziQ, real name Thabiso Clifford Popela.

He said he met Themba through Bekzin Terris who used to play his music on his sets.

“He gave me a call to work and suggested we worked together on the project. That’s basically how our version of Stomp Your Feet was born.

“The song is a blessing from above. I’ve been longing for a project with Themba. Over the years I have been inspired by, and learnt a lot from guys like him in terms of music production. This experience will keep me growing in my craft.”

Apart from Stomp Your Feet, TorQue MuziQ has been working on new music featuring the likes of Aymos Shili, Cincity and Tee Jay on a track titled Intention.

He has also completed Shweleza with Sir Trill, Lesax and Tee Jay. Both singles will drop in time for the 2022 summer holiday season.

On these tracks TorQue MuziQ draws from the experience and inspiration he gained over the years from musicians such as Oskido, DJ Fresh SA, DJ Gregory, DJ Ganyani, DJ Sbu, Crump, Louie Vega, Black Coffee, Stimming, Da Capo, Chymamusique, Kususa, Enoo Napa, DJ Shimza, Darque, FKA Mash, Bekzin Terris, Lemon n Herb and others.

His music is filled with soulful, tech and fun/dance. He also loves including emotions in his productions, because “that’s what most of my life has been so far”.

“I have to be spiritually connected to the song I’m about to work on. I’m a very imaginary person and I always imagine how the next person would react when they listen to my song.”

He described his collaboration with Themba as “just the beginning”, adding “there are more hits on the way soon”.
