Popular Joburg radio station 947 has announced a rebranding on their well-known morning drive show.
As of this week, the morning drive show will be known as ‘Anele and the Club on 947’.
The refreshed show, according to the station, promises to deliver more laughs, more fun and more music to keep the show’s radio and online streaming audiences entertained and connected to the pulse of Joburg.
“Four years on, we still have so much in-store for our listeners,” said Anele Mdoda, host of the show.
“We will continue to bring the fun to weekday mornings. Along with the show name change, listeners can look forward to a host of exciting new show features centred around giving our audience the funniest start to their day.”
Bold, cheeky and side-splittingly funny – Anele needs little introduction. Together With her team, she’s Joburg’s wake-up call, infusing weekday mornings with her non-stop energy and razor-sharp wit.
When she’s not in front of the microphone, Anele is most likely hanging out with her son, trying out a fab new recipe, immersed in a book or on set shooting another TV show.
Station manager Thando Makhunga says he’s delighted with the change.
“Joburgers love Anele. To live and thrive in this city you need a healthy sense of humour and a positive attitude,’ said Makhunga.
“Listeners love sharing their lives with her – and she has a knack of tuning into the stories that speak to all of us. Together with ‘The Club’ members Frankie Du Toit,
Thembekile Mrototo, Cindy Poluta and Alex Caige her show encapsulates the absolute can-do spirit of Joburg even during tough times.”

The show’s new pay-off line is ‘Joburg’s Most Fun Breakfast Show’.
