Her long list of achievements includes receiving the Gauteng’s Woman of Honour award and jetting off to New York to star alongside South African actress, Charlize Theron on Netflix’s Motorsport show, Hyperdrive.

She’s competed in several motor shows around the world, including the Mountain Dew Moto Extreme stunt show in Pakistan.

Stacey-Lee earned the title Queen of Smoke after winning a local spinning competition, Kings and Queens of Smoke, for four consecutive years.

#aTypicalInterview: Stacey-Lee May on her dream of learning from F1 driver Lewis Hamilton

You are able to ride in a car of your choice for the day. Which car do you choose and why?

I would love to drive in a F1 race car. I want to see if I can handle it going around the track and just maybe I can become an F1 driver.

If someone were to make a movie about your life, who would you hope would play you?

My first choice will be myself. The reason being because I want to tap into the film industry but if not, my choice would be Michelle Rodriguez. I love her and her love for cars.

The biggest misconception people have of Stacey-Lee May is...?

The biggest misconception is that people think I am 16 years old, yet I am 25 already.

Your celebrity crush is.....?

My celebrity crush is Vin Diesel and the Rock.

Stacey-Lee May, 25, is making a name for herself in spinning, one of the world’s fastest growing motor sports. supplied

What is the one meal that reminds you of your childhood?

Samp and beans I still love it and make it all the time my sister says I make granny food.

You can spend the day learning from any professional driver in the world. Who do you choose to spend the day with and why?

The one-and-only Lewis Hamilton. He’s an amazing driver and I really don't care what people say about him. Also he can show me a few ropes on the track and we both are sponsored by Monster which is so cool.

The song you most love listening to when you are spinning is...?

Picture Me Rollin’ by 2Pac I love that song and also it keeps me motivated.

Tell us about the worst date you've been on....?

Never had a bad date.

Your favourite item of clothing in your closet currently is...?

My pink gown. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, I haven’t had an opportunity to wear any of my clothing, so my pink gown I got for my birthday from my aunty Naz is the best. She knew I needed an upgrade from my last one.

The best and worst thing about living in Eldorado Park is....?

The best thing about living in Eldorado Park is that everyone knows me and my family. We get a lot of love from my community. Also when I film I always ask the crew if we can do it in my community and give back to the kids who look up to me, so whenever we need to film we make sure that our kids get a meal on the day and enjoy the show.

The worst thing is that due to the high rate of unemployment and drug abuse we have an unbalanced community and not a lot of role models. We need to protect our youth. Without them we have no future. We need to lead by example, and if we all run off to live in a better suburb we leave our young ones lost and alone. I love my community and hope for the best for them
