Zayn still heading in this Direction
Johannesburg - One Direction fans, fear not. Zayn Malik, 22, is set to reunite with his One Direction band mates for their tour of South Africa next week.
Malik this week left their On the Road Again World Tour due to stress. He pulled out of a commercial recording in Hong Kong on Thursday and has flown back to the UK .
A spokesman for the band told The Sun newspaper in the UK: “Zayn has signed off with stress and is flying back to recuperate. The band wish him well and will continue with their performances in Manila and Jakarta.”
His departure comes just hours after the Steal My Girl hit-maker was forced to assure fans he had not cheated on his fiancée Perrie Edwards of Little Mix, having been spotted getting close with “Essex girl” Lauren Richardson on a night out in Phuket, Thailand.
And it’s likely his first stop in the UK will be a visit to Perrie to explain and grovel for the furore caused.
A source said: “He is now going to surround himself with family and Perrie is likely to be at his side. It hasn't been easy for her, either.”
His mum Trisha added: “I have spoken to him and he's fine.”
Zayn will miss the performances in Asia, but is expected in South Africa next week.
