London – Mo Farah has announced that his wife has given birth to twin girls, two weeks after winning his second gold medal of the London Olympics in the 5,000 metres.
The 29-year-old Farah, who also won gold in the 10,000, expressed his delight Saturday on Twitter, saying “great news about the birth of my little baby girls! Twins...! Thanks to my wife..!! Shabba!!”
British media reports say Farah was present for the birth but will still compete in the Diamond League meeting on Sunday in Birmingham, England.
He will attempt to break Steve Ovett's 34-year record of running two miles in 8 minutes, 13.51 seconds. – Sapa-AP
