MALTA – South Africa’s Henri Schoeman finished second in the Malta Super League Triathlon held on Sunday.

Schoeman’s time of 31:04 was just behind Frenchman Vincent Luis who crossed the line in 30:59. The pair were some way ahead of the chasing pack, with Canadian Tyler Mislawchuk third in 31:48.

Schoeman and Luis were fighting for victory coming into the final 2km run. It would be Luis, however, who produced the better sprint finish in the last 200m to take victory.

Fellow SA athlete Richard Murrary finished eighth.
