BUENOS AIRES – Sprint sensation Luke Davids led the charge on Monday night by storming to gold, as the SA Track and Field team picked up two medals on Monday in the IOC Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Davids, who had clocked 10.56 in stage one, raced over the line in 10.15 with the benefit of a +3.4m/s tailwind in stage two of the boys 100m event.

With placings calculated by aggregate results of both stages, Davids earned top spot on the podium, finishing well ahead of Nigerian athlete Alaba Akintola who clocked 10.76 and 10.24.
