Chris Gayle to play for Jozi Stars as internationals drafted in Mzansi Super League

West Indies master blaster Chris Gayle is the biggest name among the international marquee players, and he will play for the biggest city in South Africa after he was signed by the Jozi Stars for the Mzansi Super League on Wednesday.

Left-handed opening batsman Gayle was ignored by the Durban Heat, who had the first pick among the internationals.

The KZN side opted for Afghanistan wrist-spinner Rashid Khan, who they believe could be a match-winner.

Jozi Stars were second on the international draft list, and chose the big-hitting Gayle to get them going at the top of the order.

Next up was Paarl Rocks, spearheaded by Proteas captain Faf du Plessis, and they went for West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo, while England batsman Dawid Malan was snapped up by the Cape Town Blitz.

The Tshwane Spartans were able to snare England T20 captain Eoin Morgan, while fellow English batsman Jason Roy was the final pick for the Nelson Mandela Bay Giants.

But it remains to be seen when exactly these overseas will play in South Africa, as they are all involved in a T10 League event in Sharjah from November 23 to December 2, while the Mzansi Super League will be held from November 16 to December 16.

With our first overall pick in the @MSL_T20 draft, we have selected T20 spin bowling ace, @rashidkhan_19! We look forward to the value he will add to our team and can't wait to see him rip in! #MSLT20 #HeatUp🔥 pic.twitter.com/u0YKRGH6GF
