Lungi Ngidi took a career-best 4/14 to take the Titans to a comfortable 61-run victory over the Warriors in the RamSlam T20 Challenge at Buffalo Park in East London on Friday night.

Proteas T20 international cap Ngidi got rid of two of the mainstays of the Warriors batting line-up – captain Jon-Jon Smuts (20) and Colin Ackermann (0) – and then came back to clean up the tail as the hosts were dismissed for just 111 in chasing 173 for victory to give the visitors their second consecutive win.

Spinners Aiden Markram (3/21) and Tabraiz Shamsi (2/25) also did damage with the ball, while Dale Steyn claimed 1/20 in three overs.

The Warriors won the toss and chose to field, and it proved to be the wrong call as the Titans amassed 172/4 in their 20 overs.

That total was largely due to the exploits of Aiden Markram (45) and Dean Elgar (34) after the Titans were rocked by the early dismissals of Quinton de Kock and Henry Davids that left them reeling at 9/2.

AB de Villiers didn’t feature in the Titans team, but Farhaan Behardien again came to the party, smashing an unbeaten 43 off just 24 balls (3x4, 2x6), while captain Albie Morkel added 33 not out off 24 balls.

* A sizable crowd at Kingsmead in Durban were left disappointed as the match between the Dolphins and Knights was abandoned due to rain without a ball being bowled.
