Islamabad – The captain of a domestic Pakistan team has been banned for two years after testing positive for anabolic steroids during a Twenty20 tournament in November.
Kashif Siddique was caught using banned steroids nandrolone and stanozolol, the Pakistan Cricket Board said on Wednesday.
Siddique captained State Bank of Pakistan in the tournament and was suspended provisionally in January.
An anti-doping tribunal found him guilty, and ruled his ban began on Jan. 8.
Siddique has played 131 first-class games, scoring 6 553 runs. – Sapa-AP
