DUBAI – Kagiso Rabada leads the way for South Africa in the Test bowler rankings at number two.

The 23-year-old fast bowler has 882 rankings points, just one point behind England’s James Anderson at the summit of the ratings.

Rabada has already played 32 Tests, picking up an incredible 151 wickets in that time for an average of 21.71 and a strike-rate of 39 (39 balls bowled per wicket on average) which is even better than Dale Steyn’s strike-rate of 42.

South Africa have not played Test cricket since their 2-0 series loss to hosts Sri Lanka in July. England, meanwhile, have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-Test series. The rankings will be updated after the third Test concludes, which begins in Colombo on Friday.

Spinner Keshav Maharaj, meanwhile, is the only other SA bowler in the top-20 at number 17 with 692 ratings points.

With the willow, Dean Elgar is ranked eighth with fellow opener Aiden Markram ninth. Hashim Amla is 13th and skipper Faf du Plessis 14th.
