The Mzansi Super League is upon us, as the player draft got under way at Montecasino in Johannesburg at 10am today.
The Durban Heat will have the first pick of the draft for an international marquee player.
The international marquee players available are Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo (both West Indies), Jason Roy, Eoin Morgan, Dawid Malan (all England) and Rashid Khan – the spinner from Afghanistan.
The Proteas marquee players have already been assigned to the six teams as follows:
Durban Heat: Hashim Amla
Cape Town Blitz: Quinton de Kock
Paarl Rocks: Faf du Plessis
Jozi Stars: Kagiso Rabada
Nelson Mandela Bay Giants: Imran Tahir
Tshwane Spartans: AB de Villiers.
De Kock replaced JP Duminy at the Cape Town Blitz, after the latter was ruled out with a shoulder injury that will require surgery.
