GEORGETOWN – South Africa spinner Imran Tahir on Tuesday was named in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) T20 All-star team.

Tahir, 39, led his side Guyana Amazon Warriors to the final of the CPL played on the weekend. The Warriors lost to Trinbago Knight Riders by eight wickets, but once again Tahir was the most economical of the bowlers conceding just 17 runs in his four overs.

The legspinner played all 12 matches for his side this season, and proved a vital element of the Amazon Warriors attack.

Tahir bowled his full complement of four overs in every match, taking 16 wickets at an average of 17. Even more impressive was his economy-rate of 5.91, with a strike-rate of 18.
