Hamilton, New Zealand – New Zealand beat India in their rain-hit second one-day international in Hamilton Wednesday to go 2-0 up in the five-match series.

India were 277-9, 20 short of their 297-run target set under the Duckworth-Lewis method, when rain stopped play with three balls remaining.

The game had been reduced to 42 overs when two hours were lost because of rain in the New Zealand innings.

New Zealand, batting first, scored 271-7 with Kane Williamson making 77 and Ross Taylor 57. Mohammed Shami took three for 55.

In the Indian innings, Virat Kohli made 78 and Mahendra Singh Dhoni 56 while Tim Southee took four for 72. – AFP
