The Telkom SA National Open Water 10km swim on Sunday at the Marina Martinique in Jeffrey’s Bay saw Chad Ho and Troyden Prinsloo share the gold while Natalie Du Toit added yet another National Title to her name.

The expected battle was between Chad Ho and Troyden Prinsloo. Ho took the lead within the first kilometre of the 4 x 2.5km lap course and went head-to-head with Prinsloo, both finishing just under the 2 hour mark (1:57:18.37) to share the gold medal with Michael Marais taking the silver in 2:24:11.79.

Du Toit was in a class of her own as she needed just over two hours to cover the distance. She took the lead on the first lap and showed just why she has multiple world records behind her name in the Paralympics. Du Toit clocked 2:02:21.21 to the 2:09:30.70 of Jessica Roux and 2:11:07.38 of Nicole Brits.

The Telkom SA National Open Water Championships is the qualification event for the FINA World Championships in Shanghai, China in July.
