The Nedbank Golf Challenge was heading towards a dramatic final on Sunday afternoon with local hope Branden Grace just one shot off the pace as he neared the halfway point of his final round.

Grace picked up three birdies after eight holes to be at eight-under, one behind Victor Dubuisson, who had two birdies to be at nine-under.

Overnight leader Scott Jamieson dropped to even for the day after recording two birdies, but a double bogey at the par-four eighth.

The big mover though on the final day was China’s Li Haotong, who went out in 30 with six birdies and he picked up further birdies at the 12th and 14th to be eight-under for his round, and seven-under overall.

Scoring was good in the early stages of the round with just a slight breeze blowing and temperatures in the mid-thirties.

The last South African to win the tournament was Trevor Immelman in 2007.
