LOS ANGELES – PGA Tour pro Bill Haas was injured in a car crash which killed the driver of the Ferrari in which the golfer was a passenger, officials and media reports said Wednesday.

Haas, 35, was hospitalized following the Tuesday night accident in Pacific Palisades and released, the PGA Tour said in a statement.

Haas's father, former PGA golfer Jay Haas, told the Golf Channel his son suffered some pain in his legs but was not seriously injured.

The Los Angeles fire department said a 50-year-old woman who was in a BMW that was involved in the crash with the Ferrari was hospitalized in serious condition.

Police told KTLA television station that another car driven by actor Luke Wilson was “clipped” by the Ferrari but the “Legally Blonde” star was unhurt.

The PGA Tour said the driver of the car who died was a member of the family that was hosting Haas during the Genesis Open golf tournament.

“Bill will withdraw from the Genesis Open and plans to head home to Greenville (South Carolina) to recover,” the tour statement said.

Haas won the Genesis Open in 2012 and has won five other PGA Tour titles. He also won the FedEx Cup in 2011.
