BERLIN - Mercedes and Ferrari battled for the Formula One world championship last season and the 2018 fight will be previewed on February 22 - with both teams unveiling their cars for the new campaign.

"Our 2018 Silver Arrow will be officially unveiled on 22 February," Mercedes said on Twitter Thursday.

"The cool part, we've cooperated with @ScuderiaFerrari to ensure that you - the #BestFans- can see both launches uninterrupted! They WILL NOT clash!"

World champion Lewis Hamilton and team-mate Valtteri Bottas will both drive the new car in functional tests at the Silverstone track as part of the unveiling.

Ferrari will also present their car that day, 24 hours ahead of McLaren. Toro Rosso will reveal their car on February 25, a day before the first round of pre-season testing begins in Barcelona.

The 2018 F1 season starts with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 25.
