PRETORIA – Former EFC welterweight title challenger Jose da Rocha has promised to score his second first round finish with the promotion when he faces Pupanga Tresor at EFC 66 in December, and called for a rematch with Dricus du Plessis.

Da Rocha suffered a first round TKO loss to welterweight king Du Plessis when he made his EFC debut on short notice in a title match in May, but rebounded knocking out Cameron Pritchard just 23 seconds in the first round of his next fight.

The Brazilian was set to face Themba Gorimbo in his third EFC bout, but will now face the DRC’s Pupanga Tresor.

“I do not know the real reason that made my opponent leave the fight, but it does not matter. I am training to win, training to knock out, training to be champion. I will win this fight as fast as possible,” Da Rocha said.

"I want to fight Dricus for the title soon, I promise a real war this time with more time to prepare. Inside the Hexagon we will see who is the champion of that division really.”

It was revealed last week that Tresor would replace his teammate Gorimbo. Gorimbo revealed Tresor would be replacing him via a Facebook live stream on the official EFC Facebook page.

The is a potential welterweight decider takes place on the main card, just ahead of the TF1 Finale and the EFC bantamweight title unification fight between champion Demarte Pena and interim champion Irshaad Sayed.
