Johannesburg - Olympic gold medallist Chad le Clos will be looking to bounce back from an indifferent performance over the weekend when he gets into the pool for the second leg of the Mare Nostrum series in Canet, France on Wednesday.
Le Clos, the reigning Olympic and world champion in the 200m butterfly, suffered a shock defeat to Japan's Dayia Seto in his specialist event, to settle for a silver medal.
Instead, it was distance swimmer Myles Brown and women's swimming ace Karin Prinsloo who claimed the silverware in Monaco.
The trio would once again be the South African team's biggest medal hopefuls at the two-day meet in France.
In Canet, Le Clos would be adding the 200m backstroke to his repertoire of four events which included the 100m, 200m butterfly and the 100m freestyle.
In the 100m freestyle, he would go up against Olympic gold medallist Nathan Adrian of the US, while he faced Olympic silver medallist Ryosuke Irie of Japan in the 200m backstroke.
Prinsloo, who improved her own 200m freestyle national record in Monaco, would also be competing in four events - the 100m, 200m, 400m freestyle and the 200m backstroke.
Brown, the biggest winner in Monaco, where he won gold in both the 200m and 400m freestyle events, would be up against Le Clos in the 100m freestyle, while he would also be in action in the 200m, 400m and 800m events.
