Johannesburg – Having required the rights to televise the National Basketball Association (NBA) live, local broadcaster SuperSport's first broadcast will see the Philadelphia 76ers and the Oklahoma City Thunder invade Europe for pre-season action on Saturday.

Preparing for the new NBA season, which starts on October 29, Philadelphia and Oklahoma boast a number of African stars such as Tanzania’s Hasheem Thabeet, the tallest player active in the NBA, Serge Ibaka from the Congo and Thabo Sefolosha, who is of South African descent.

They will play against 2012-13 Euroleague Basketball qualifiers Fernebahce Ulker from Turkey and Spain’s Bilbao Basket. They end their tour with a match against each other.

The Euroleague Basketball is also live on SuperSport. – Sapa
