BRISBANE– The bulk of Team South Africa has arrived in Gold Coast, Australia, ahead of Friday's flag-raising ceremony in the Commonwealth Games.

After Monday night’s farewell dinner in Johannesburg, athletes representing badminton, bowls, boxing, gymnastics, women’s hockey, shooting, wrestling and weightlifting codes were on their way to Australia where they have settled into the Athletes Village.

The swimming, netball and men’s hockey sides were among the first codes to arrive.

The men’s and women’s rugby sevens sides will be the last codes to touch down at the Gold Coast. Action starts on Wednesday, April 4 and will end on April 15.
