PORT ELIZABETH – Netball South Africa (NSA) have named a 26-member national training squad after the national championships ended in Port Elizabeth on Saturday.

The 26-member team will be whittled down to a national squad of 12 after a training camp in August.

NSA also announced a President’s XII, a Fast Five squad, a development squad and an Under-21 squad.

Many senior Proteas players missed the national championships because they are playing overseas, but they have been included in the training squad.

SA Training Squad

Shooters: Lenize Potgieter, Sigi Burger, Ine-Mari Venter, Maryka Holtzhausen, Renske Stoltz, Danelle Lochner, Talja Venter, Meagan Roux.

Centre: Bongi Msomi, Erin Burger, Izette Griesel, Rome Dreyer, Kgomotso Ithlhabanyeng, Khanyisa Chawane, Tshina Mdau, Jeanette Vermeulen.

Defenders: Phumza Maweni, Karla Pretorius, Zanele Vimbela, Shadine van der Merwe, Juline van der Merwe, Jessica Khomo, Zandré Erasmus, Monique Reynecke, Lentsa Motau, Precious Mthembu (subject to fitness).
