Johannesburg – Lions vice-captain Derick Minnie fractured his cheek bone during his side's 34-10 victory over the Stormers at the weekend, the team announced on Monday

Minnie suffered the injury after a collision with Schalk Burger during the game at Ellis Park, Johannesburg, on Saturday.

The Lions medical staff said they were positive Minnie would make a speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, loose forward Willie Britz had recovered from his hip flexor injury and would be considered for selection ahead of this weekend's clash with the Bulls. – Sapa
