Johannesburg – South Africa's most experienced rugby Test referee Jonathan Kaplan will officiate in his last professional game on Saturday when Western Province take on the Sharks at Newlands in the Currie Cup final.

Kaplan, who heads into retirement after the domestic showpiece in Cape Town, handled his first Test match in 1996 and became the first referee worldwide to officiate in 50 Tests.

The match would also mark Kaplan's sixth Currie Cup final.

He would be assisted by Christie du Preez and Stefan Breytenbach, while Deon van Blommestein was appointed as the Television Match Official. – Sapa
